The Bristol White Clouds Sangha held a summer garden party and all-day brunch in June 2023 to help raise funds for the Being Peace Practice Centre.
The Being Peace Practice Centre will be a permanent practice centre in the UK for mindful living and healing. Inspired by the teachings of Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh, founder of Plum Village, France, the UK centre will offer courses, retreats, opportunities for meditation, a happy farm and much more. Of the £2m target required, £800,000 has already been raised and we are actively searching for a property.
The day was a success, in large part due to a joint effort amongst a core group of truly lovely sangha members😊 . We were blessed with wonderful sunny weather and round 50 people came. Sangha members brought a large amount of delicious breakfast and lunch food – and astonishingly it all went. So, satisfying not to have to deal with left overs! The rain started just before 4pm which triggered a flurry of activity as people put away the garden furniture and cleared up the kitchen. By 4.30 everything was tidied away, the kitchen was clean and everyone left in good spirits.
